KEY PERSONNEL

ACUSIM Software has assembled the best of the software developers and engineers in the field of CFD. Our key personnel are as follows.

Dr. Farzin Shakib, President

Dr. Farzin Shakib is the founder and the lead technologist of ACUSIM Software. As one of the leading US experts in the field of computational fluid dynamics, Dr. Shakib has spent the past eighteen years developing CFD packages, thirteen of which has been in commercial software. During this time, he has conceptually designed and mathematically analyzed finite element technologies and developed efficient academic and commercial solvers. Due to his in-depth knowledge of fluid dynamics, finite element analysis, and linear algebra, as well as strong algorithm and code-development experience and skills, he is uniquely qualified to lead the development of AcuSolve.

Dr. Shakib received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, under the advisorship of Professor Thomas J.R. Hughes. He designed and wrote a flow solver which is the backbone of the current finite element research at Stanford University.

Prior to ACUSIM, Dr. Shakib worked at Centric Engineering Systems and NASA Ames Research Center.

Steve Cosgrove, Vice President, Technical Sales & Support

Steve Cosgrove joined ACUSIM Software in February 2004. Previously, he was a Product Sales Manager at ANSYS ICEMCFD and also worked in the STAR-CD agency group at CD-ADAPCO. He has over 16 years of experience in computational fluid dynamics. He started his career in 1989 at Knolls Atomic Power Lab (KAPL Inc) and was a senior engineer in the CFD group when he left in 1999 having acquired experience in a wide range of competing CFD products.

Steve received his MS in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University in 1989 and performed an extensive amount of coursework and research in Discontinous Galerkin Methods at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in the mid 1990's.
